These are called Phenolic Laminated Sheets (IS 2036:1995) because they are made from superimposed layers of paper impregnated with a thermosetting phenolic resin & bonded together under heat & pressure.

Presently being manufactured in two types in size of 8' x 4' and thickness from 0.8 mm. to 25.0 mm.

  • Mechanical application. Mechanical properties better than other types. Poor electrical properties under normal humidity.
  • High voltage application at power frequencies. High electric strength under oil. Good electric strength in air under normal humidity.
